I love Nebraska football.
I live in South Carolina so I only hear about the Clemson Tigers or the South Carolina Gamecocks.
I hate Clemson so when Nebraska played them in a bowl game a couple years ago I had to create an illustration (yes, the Cornhuskers won!)

Just a quick sketch I did before the 2009 season

My coworker is from South Carolina and we've had some back and forth over the upcoming bowl game. I wasn't sure what a gamecock was. An internet search for gamecock came up with a picture of a chicken. The picture now hangs outside my cubicle with the caption "It's just a chicken". My coworker added a "kickin'" annotation, as in kickin' chicken. Do you have an illustration of Herbie Husker kicking a gamecock? I'm sure that is what my coworker meant.
ReplyDeleteI guess they are a fighting rooster of sorts.
ReplyDeleteI tend to lean toward the Gamecocks rather than Clemson, USC fans are better educated. I considered doing a sketch but after the beatdown they delivered us I'm glad I did not.
